- Anna Kraczyna
Anna Kraczyna is a highly accomplished speaker with multiple certifications as a coach and trainer, as well as a university lecturer, translator, and author. Her writing has been featured in the New York Times, and she has published with Penguin Classics. Anna was born and raised in Florence, Italy, to American artist parents. Her Russian émigré grandparents gave her the distinctive surname.
With over three decades of experience as a translator, simultaneous interpreter, and cultural mediator, Anna has also carved out a distinguished career as an academic. She lectures on Italian language, literature, and culture, as well as on maximizing the experience of studying and working abroad in Italy. She has taught at American universities and colleges in Florence, including Stanford University and Sarah Lawrence College, for nearly 20 years.
Anna’s annotated translation of The Adventures of Pinocchio for Penguin Classics has received praise from esteemed publications such as The Economist, Times Literary Supplement, Smithsonian, and The New Yorker. She has written about Collodi’s masterpiece also for the New York Times, among other publications. She was co-founder of the Association of Scholars at American Universities in Italy (ASAUI) and has been part of its board for over twenty years.
Leveraging her extensive bicultural experience, thirty-plus years as a translator, simultaneous interpreter, and cultural mediator, and over two decades of lecturing on Italian language and culture, Anna conducts very successful cross-cultural workshops to help foreign companies and individuals navigate cultural nuances in Italy.
A former international fashion model, dual American Italian citizen, she is bilingual in Italian and English and also speaks French. Anna resides in Florence, Italy.
