“The culture we advertise should be the same culture people actually experience.”

- David Mead

David imagines a world where trust between leaders and teams is the default setting. Where we show up to work with the intent to connect, lift and serve. Where we consider others’ interests as much as our own. He works with leaders and their teams to build and maintain cultures based on that ideal. These cultures lead to higher performance, increased retention, well-being and a more meaningful human experience.

David Mead is bringing humanity back to work. During the past 13 years David has worked with over 300 companies in 21 countries. In that time, he has discovered a pattern that is present with every leader worth following.

David began his career in corporate training in 2004. In 2009 he was the second person to join speaker and author, Simon Sinek’s team. For the next 10 years, David helped share Simon’s simple, inspiring ideas through speaking and workshops.

In 2017, David applied his years of practical experience and learning and co-authored, with Peter Docker and Simon Sinek, Find Your Why: a practical guide for discovering the WHY of an individual, team or organization. It has sold over 500,000 copies and is translated into 25 languages.

Since December, 2019 David has focused on helping leaders implement the powerful ideas he now talks about. He shares a simple framework that allows each of us to lead and influence others with genuine humanity, no matter our role or title. The result? Higher performance, innovation, collaboration, retention and importantly, well-being for us and our teams.

David is a no-stress presenter clients love working with. He brings a relatable, human approach to his ideas and guides people to identify frictionless daily practices they can use immediately after the session.

Every successful organization cares about increasing metrics like performance, innovation, retention and well-being. All these things are inextricably tied to people. What so many organizations don’t realize is that they are self-sabotaging their efforts to increase those metrics by the environment they create for the people who are responsible for those metrics.

Over 13 years of working with and observing leaders and teams all over the globe, I have seen a simple pattern that exists in thriving cultures and is noticeably absent in toxic cultures. In its simplest form, what makes or breaks a culture is trust and human connection.

When leaders and teams foster trust and human connection, performance increases because we care about our work and the other people who rely on us. Innovation goes up because we’re not afraid to put out an idea that might not work. Retention increases because as human beings we want to be in a place where we feel like we’re valued and we belong. Well-being increases because we find meaning and joy in our work. The opposite of all these things is also true in toxic cultures.

Yes, trust and human connection are good for business, but more importantly, they are vital to having a more meaningful human experience. I share simple ideas and frictionless behaviors that help all of us, no matter our role or position, take responsibility for positively contributing to the cultures we are a part of.

Make the culture you talk about the culture your people actually experience.
